David Joseph Jankowski, 80, of Renfroe, GA died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Church of the Holy Family, 320 12th St. Columbus, GA 31901 with Father Daniel O'Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
Mr. Jankowski was born February 18, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Raymond and Harriette Bolleck Jankowski. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired from Delta as the Director of Property and Management. Mr. Jankowski earned his bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia and was their biggest fan. He was a Catholic by faith and loved golf. He was a car enthusiast and a hay farmer. Mr. Jankowski was a member of the Springer Guild and was a proud member of the Pine Mountain Valley Soil and Water Conservation.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Stonewall Jackson Patterson, III and Charles David Patterson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Dallas Patterson Jankowski of Renfroe, GA, brother, Larry Jankowski, and sister, Barbara Ann Mehrbass both of Oak Creek, WI, niece, Kelli Patterson Icard (Ron B.) of Woodstock, GA, nephews, Charles David Patterson, Jr. (Susan) of Hamilton, GA and Daniel Brewer Patterson (Tiffany B.) of Renfroe, GA, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Cusseta United Methodist Church, 364 Broad St., Cusseta, GA 31805 or to your favorite charity.
