David Braxton Martin

Mr. David Braxton Martin, Sr, died at his home in Phenix City, Saturday, November 28, 2009.
He is survived by one daughter, Shondra Helen Hogan and two sons, David Braxton Martin, Jr and Nicholas Paul Martin, three sisters Mary Caldwell, Barbara Martin, Jewel Goodridge, one brother William Joseph Martin, Jr., seven grandchildren Amber Hogan, Chantel Hogan, Lance Martin, Nikki Hollaway, John Tamaski, Kaila Hogan, Chelsea Hogan; two great granddaughters Delylah Mitchell and Nattaley Davis. Leaving behind many loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eunice Jones Martin and William Joseph Martin, Sr., and two brothers Robert Martin and Donald Martin.
Mr. Martin lived in the Columbus-Phenix City area most of his life. He worked in the textiles in the early part of his life and worked in mechanics and welding his later years. He enjoyed camping and fishing all though his life as his favorite pastime. He enjoyed making people laugh everywhere he went. He would often share his beliefs in Christ with others that he met during his daily life. As he became disabled and home bound he enjoyed watching old classic movies. His companion in his last years was his faithful pet Lilliey.
He will be missed by his family, friends and everyone that knew him. Heaven now has a new Angel and this gives comfort to his family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 4 PM, Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Life Church, 10290 Lee Rd. 240, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Heeger officiating.
