Dale Alan Lovegrove, 60, of Upatoi, GA died Monday, December 19, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Upatoi United Methodist Church, Upatoi, GA with Reverend Chip Grantham officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends following the service at the church, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Lovegrove was born August 26, 1951 in Dallas, TX son of the late Onford Carl Lovegrove and Madonna Forbes Lovegrove. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. Mr. Lovegrove was a self-employed contractor and Baptist by faith.
Other than his parents, Mr. Lovegrove was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Ann Lovegrove.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lovegrove of Upatoi, GA; his children, Shelley Dale Lovegrove, David Alan Lovegrove, and James Russell Napier; daughters, Jennifer Rene Lassen and Shelley Marie Mills; grandchildren, Erin Lovegrove, Emily Lovegrove, John Lassen, Landon Lassen, Tyler Lovegrove, Kayleigh Mills, Taylor Mills, and Sarah Mills; sister, Patricia Lassen of Buena Vista, GA; brothers, Don Lovegrove and David Lovegrove, both of Columbus, GA; mother-in-law, Janice Thornton Ford of Columbus, GA and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to John B. Amos Cancer Center, 1831 5th Avenue, Columbus, GA 31901.
