Dale Lynn Everson, 65, of Columbus, GA died Monday, February 22, 2016 at Columbus Specialty Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2016 at Cascade Hills Church 727 54th St. Columbus, GA 31904 with Rev. Bob Hawkins and Rev. David Helms officiating. A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Everson was born June 25, 1950 in Oxnard, CA, son of Verna Alice Barker Everson of Oakview, CA and the late Peter Dale Everson. He worked in Columbus for 25 years in manufacturing. He was a lifelong supporter and avid fan of the CSU Basketball program. His passion of the game began in his youth, on through his college years and extended to the joy of backyard games with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Everson was a family oriented man who loved and supported his grandchildren. He was a good, Christian father and was a mentor to the family. He enjoyed family game time and fishing. Dale had a gentle heart and a kind spirit.
Other than his mother, survivors include his loving wife, Julie Coley Everson of Columbus, GA, children, Keith Dale Everson (Angie) of Midland, GA and Karen Everson Jones (Mike) of Cataula, GA, siblings, Larry Everson (Helen) of Fairbanks, AK and Melodie Everson of Oakdale, CA, grandchildren, Blake, Alli Gray, Jake, Alexis, Elise and Carson, as well as the blessing of a supportive extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Columbus State University Athletics, Attn: Jimbo Davis CSU Basketball Program 4225 University Ave. Columbus, GA 31907.
