Daisy Lee Penny, 91, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial and Eastern Star service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Cliff Vicars and Chaplain John Routzahn officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Penny was born December 30, 1920 in Great Falls, MT daughter of the late William H. and Lily C. Matson Morris. She served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. She was a Registered Nurse during World War II and retired from Martin Army Community Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the TIC Chapel in Ft. Benning, GA, Shrine Club Auxiliary, and Eastern Star Guardettes Ft. Benning Chapter 278.
Daisy was a devoted wife and a very proud mother. She was best known for her sweet smile and her loving ways.
