Cynthia Michelle Leo

Cynthia Michelle Leo, also known as “Bama” to family and friends, 49, passed away Friday, July 7th, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 29, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Sammie Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Cynthia was born May 6, 1974 in Columbus, GA to Linda Jackson and the late Robert Cecil Brown. Her mother described her as a kid who didn’t let anyone mess with her. In high school, she was described as tough and fierce by her best friend and brother. That fire in her was calmed as she became a mother. She devoted her life to raising her children, grandchildren, and being a diehard Alabama fan.

The only words to describe her are sweet, caring, loving, and selfless. She poured love into family, friends, and even strangers. She would give her last and do without just to make sure you were taken care of. She always gave the best hugs and always had time for people, no matter what was going on in her day. She made everyone feel welcome whether it was a quick chat (more likely long chat because she loved to talk) or an all-day meet up. You always felt loved after spending time with Bama.

She left behind her children, Moana Leo, Daniel Leo, and Jeanne Shannon, grandchildren, Malia and Hendrix, mother, Linda Jackson, two brothers, Jason and Keith, sister, Celina, and the community she took in as her own. She will be greatly missed as she has made such a great impact on the lives she’s touched.
