(Ret.) CWO4 Curtis L. Wooden, 81, of Columbus, GA died Friday, July 22, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Father Brian LaBurt officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. A rosary will be said Monday, July 25, 2011 at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM according to the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Wooden was born March 31, 1930 in Sumter Co., GA son of the late Lawyer and Sallie Kitchen Wooden. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer. He later worked as an Engineer for Raytheon Middle East Systems.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Maria Victoria Malana Wooden of Columbus, GA, children, Michael Wooden, Sr. (Renee) of Camden Co., GA, Gregory Wooden (Shimell) of Kansas City, MO and Samantha Wooden of Columbus, GA, sister, Peggy Henderson of Tampa, FL, and two grandsons, Michael Wooden, Jr. and Knikki Wooden.
