Cw3 (Ret) Robert Leo Kelley

CW3 (RET) Robert Leo Kelley, 89, of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Columbus Hospice House. A graveside service with full military honors and masonic rites will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 12, 2021 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Chaplin Maj. Brady Frederick officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday, July 12, 2021 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Kelley was born February 25, 1932 in Coldwater, KS to the late Louis Winifred and Mary Indorf Kelley. He served 26 years in the U.S. Army retiring with a rank of CW3 (Chief Warrant Officer). After his military retirement, Robert went on to work in maintenance at Toms Foods for 10 years and 10 years at Columbus Regional as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the Masonic Ft. Benning Lodge # 579 for over 50 years and he was also a member of St. Mark Methodist Church. In Mr. Kelley’s spare time he loved to hunt and fish. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Ruth Agnes Kroll Kelley.

He is survived by his children; Mary-Ann Kelley of Clarkston, WA, Yvonne Wisham of Columbus, GA, Ute Chavers (Bruce) of Columbus, GA, grandchildren; Lance Wisham, Kellie Girnys (Johnathan), Bryan Chavers (Jenny), Nicholas Chavers, great-grandchildren; Ellison and Graham Girnys, Carson and Keelan Wisham.
