Curtis Walter Taylor, 89, of Columbus, GA died Friday, November 13, 3009 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, November 16, 2009 at Glenn Anthony Baptist Church with Reverend Hank Reeves, Reverend Udell Addison, and grandson, Dr. Steven Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-6 Sunday at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Taylor was born January 20, 1920 in Chipley, FL son of the late George and Vera Taylor. He worked at Bibb Manufacturing Company for 36 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #484 for 50 years and was a Deacon at Glenn Anthony Baptist Church for 50 years. His hobbies include fishing, wood working, and gardening. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Troy Taylor, Angus Taylor, Ray Taylor and Leroy Taylor, sisters, Flora Hall and Gladys McDonald.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lela Mae Taylor of Columbus, GA, sons, Larry Taylor (Sara) of Panama City, FL and Luther Taylor (Kathy) of Pensacola, FL, daughter, Linda Atkinson (David) of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, David Paul Atkinson (Heather) of Fayetteville, GA, Steve Taylor (Christi) of Panama City, FL, Dana Goldman (Jeff) of Jacksonville, FL, Lori Kizziah (John) of Pensacola, FL, Tiffany Woodward (Doug) of Pensacola, FL, eleven great grandchildren, and sister, Lorene Peacock of Columbus, GA.
The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be made to Glenn Anthony Baptist Church 1109 39th St. Columbus, GA 31904.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
