Cornelia M. Griffith, 72, of Port St. Lucia, FL died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at her home.
Born in Panama, Central America, Cornelia was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL for 19 years moving from Columbus, GA.
Prior to retirement Mrs. Griffith was a teacher at IRSC in Port St. Lucie, FL for ten years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL, belonging to various groups, including a Prayer Group at the church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Griffith in 1995.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Tracy of Port St. Lucie, FL, three grandchildren, three sisters, Bienvenida Ruiz of Deltona, FL, Pastora Rodriguez and Salome Murillo de Qunitero both of Panama, Central America, and one brother, Mauro Murillo of Panama, Central America.
Friends and relatives may call Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Aycock Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie, FL with a Prayer Vigil recited at 4:30 PM at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 AM Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Burial will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery in in Ft. Benning, GA under the direction of McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
