Memorial services will be held 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Second Baptist Church, 2800 Second Avenue, Columbus, GA 31904 with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Cody was born May 18, 1996 in Lynchburg, VA, son of Tammy Harrison Wages of Columbus, GA and the late Glen Raymond Layne.
Survivors include his mother, Tammy Wages of Columbus, GA; sisters, Amber Edwards and Tiffany Layne both of Columbus, GA; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Thompson (Tommy) of Browns Summit, NC; maternal grandfather, Randall Kent Harrison (Nell) of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Beth Harrison of Columbus, GA; uncle, David Waller of Lynchburg, VA; nephew, Nicholas McDonald, Jr. of Columbus, GA and best friend, Kason Frost of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Valley Rescue Mission, 2903 2nd Avenue, Columbus, GA 31904.
