CMS (Ret.) Frederick K. Nogaj, 82, of Columbus, GA died Friday, July 8, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services with full military honors will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Father Mariusz Fuks officiating. There will be a private interment at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Nogaj was born May 30, 1929 in Chicago, IL son of the late Peter Thomas Nogaj and Helen Josephine Nogaj.
He retired from the U. S. Air Force after 22 years serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of The Retired Enlisted Association and was Catholic by faith. He was an avid reader, master at crossword puzzles, collector of stamps and coins and lover of antiques. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Nogaj.
Survivors include his wife, Doris J. Nogaj of Columbus, GA; daughters, Jean Googe (Jerry) of Columbus, GA, Linda Mosley (James) of DeFuniak Springs, FL; son, Robert E. Johnson of Columbus, GA; sister, Alice Holesha of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
