Clifford Boland Robertson, 73, of Columbus, GA died February 14, 2011 at his home after a ten year battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Paul United Methodist Church 2101 Wildwood Ave. Columbus, GA 31906 with Reverend Dr. Edwin "Buddy" Cooper, Reverend John Fugh, and Reverend James Cornett officiating. A private family burial will be held 3 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at Riverdale Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Robertson was born July 8, 1937 in Columbus, GA son of the late Althea Boland Robertson and the late Harry Guy Robertson. He was the retired co-owner (with his son, Cliff, Jr.) of All Services Packing and Shipping and he served in the United States Naval Reserves. He was a 1956 graduate of Columbus High School and a 1963 graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Whitetails Trails Hunting Club in Marion County, GA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching UGA football. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, friends, and dogs, Sassy and Vista.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marcia Jones Robertson of Columbus, GA, daughter, Mary Lyn Chandler and husband, Dwight, and grandson, William Clifford Garmon all of Acworth, GA, son, Clifford Boland Robertson, Jr. and wife, Lynn, grandsons, Clifford Boland Robertson, III "Trey", and Nathaniel Carter Robertson all of Columbus, GA. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Allen Robertson of Stone Mountain, GA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
