Clifford C. Owens, Jr., 78, of Cataula, GA died Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Central Alabama Veteran's Health Care in Tuskegee, AL.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Jared Owens officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Owens was born May 17, 1938 in Bowden, GA son of the late Clifford C. Owens, Sr. and Fannie Lou Powell Owens. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and later worked in Maintenance for TSYS. He enjoyed boating and fishing especially at Lake Martin and at Bama Park. He also enjoyed eating off the beaten path restaurants. He also loved his dog, Ginger.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Clifford Mark Owens and sister, Peggy Williams.
Survivors include his daughters, Victoria Childs (Mike) of Cataula, GA, Teresa Dean of Columbus, GA and Catherine Clayton (David) of Phenix City, AL, sisters, Mary Ann Kelly of Columbus, GA and Dorothy Hundley of Smith Station, AL, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
