Clifford Henry Brooks, 84, of Fortson, GA died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 6, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Cook officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday, February 5, 2010 at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Brooks was born March 14, 1925 in Columbus, GA son of the late Hiram Robert and Velma Rolling Brooks. He was a Veteran of World War II and served in the Marines. He retired as a driver for Crown Central Petroleum. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Brunell Brooks and Perry Brooks, son-in-law, David Urquhart, and grandson, Charles Reese.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Adell Wyatt Brooks, four daughters, Brenda Elliott and her husband, Pat, Susan Tharp and her husband, Dwayne, Margaret Adams and her husband, John, and Patty King and her husband, Jeff, three sisters, Sara Britt, Doris Groscost, and Margie Felgenhouer, two brothers, Robert Brooks and George Brooks, seven grandchildren, Kim Gillum, Jenny Digby, Terri Tharp, Michael Urquhart, Sam Reese, Josh Elliott and Brian Urquhart, and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Alabama Baptist Childrenâ
