U.S. Army (Ret.) SSG Claude John Clausen, Sr., 84, of Columbus, GA died Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, September 19, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Little and Reverend Norman Dunlap officiating. Graveside military honors to follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ret. SSG Clausen was born July 30, 1931 in Franklin, LA son of the late Chris and Bessie Dorsey Clausen. He retired after 23 ½ years in the U.S. Army and retired from Troy State University after being with them for 25 years. He was also a member of Lighthouse Fellowship Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Clausen and his grandson, Brian Casey Clausen.
Survivors include her wife of 61 ½ years, Anna Dottl Clausen of Columbus, GA, daughter, Linda Perry (Ray), son, Claude Clausen, Jr. (Debbie) all of Columbus, GA, sister, Evelyn Ortego of Centerville, LA, brother, Ronnie Clausen (Joan) of Bunkie, LA, three grandchildren, Chris Clausen, Angela Urban and Kyle Perry, two great grandchildren, Abby Urban and Landen Urban, and numerous nieces and nephews.
