Clarice M. Clark
October 3, 1931 — November 26, 2017
Mrs. Clarice M. Clark, age 86, passed away November 26, 2017 at Columbus Hospice House. She was born in October 1931 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Thelma Braswell MaGill and Samuel Herbert MaGill.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 7775 Moon Road, Columbus GA, with Rev. Steve Womack officiating. Visitation will be held before the service at 3:00 pm at the church, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus GA.
Mrs. Clark was a 1948 graduate of Jordan High School in Columbus, a 1951 graduate of Georgia Southwestern University in Americus GA and a 1955 graduate of Phillips University in Enid OK. She worked for Kinnett Dairies after high school, on the staffs of First Christian Church in Monroe LA, First Christian Church in Jacksonville FL and the national office of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indianapolis IN. From 1974 to 1996 she worked at the Crane Naval Weapons Support Center in Indiana, starting as a secretary and retiring as a computer systems analyst.
She married Rev. David H. Clark in October 1958. She assisted her husband as he served churches in Austin TX, Tipton IN, Beatrice NE, Elnora IN, French Lick IN, Mitchell IN and Bloomington IN. After retirement, they traveled fulltime in their RV until her husband's death in 2002. Mrs. Clark loved to read and instilled a love of lifelong learning in both of her children. She is remembered for her cheerful disposition and ready words of encouragement.
Survivors include a son, Robin David Clark, of Coppell TX, a daughter Rebecca Clark Klash and son-in-law, David Klash, both of Columbus GA, a brother-in-law, Phillip Clark, of Carmel IN and her friends at Savannah Grand Assisted Living, where she had lived since 2011. She was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Herbert MaGill.
