Clarence Edwin Thompson Jr., affectionately known as Eddie, passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 62 in Mobile, Alabama.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 30, 2024 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a burial at Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Eddie was born on September 5, 1962, in Albany, Georgia. Eddie grew up with a passion for life that he carried with him through every endeavor. Eddie is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 25 years, Ginger Thompson, daughter, Jo Thompson, son, Nick Thompson, daughter-in-law, Tiffany along with his cherished grandchildren, Jamison, Aiden, Addison, niece, Erin Perry and nephew, Ian Perry. He also leaves behind his stepbrother Ron Perry (Laurie) and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father Clarence Edwin Thompson, his mother Gladys Thompson, his stepmother Lois Thompson, and his stepbrother Michael Perry.

A proud graduate of Edgewood Christian School in 1980, Eddie dedicated over 20 years to Orkin Pest Control before changing gears to become a committed truck driver for another two decades at Coca Cola. His work ethic and commitment to his profession were admired by all who knew him.

An avid outdoorsman, Eddie was a long-standing member of the Kinchafoonee Hunting Club, where he spent countless hours amongst nature. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies but a way of life for him. He also had an encyclopedic knowledge of music, with an impressive ability to name bands and their members from a vast array of songs, a talent that brought joy to many gatherings.

Eddie's memory will be cherished through the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love he spread. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
