Clara Elizabeth Chambers
August 21, 1931 — April 18, 2020
Clara Elizabeth Chambers, 88, of Columbus GA died Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Orchard View Nursing Home.
Due to the public health crisis a private graveside service will be held for immediate family members only Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. A public Celebration of Life Service for family and friends may be held at a date to be determined after the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided.
Clara was born August 21, 1931 in Corpus Christi, TX to the late Andrew Jackson Prestwood and Betty Leatherwood Prestwood. She was a member of Summerfield Assembly of God and was a lifelong Christian. She loved her God, family, friends, and was a wonderful mother, wife and homemaker. She was the spiritual leader of her family. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Chambers, son, Ray Chambers and sister, Mary Jo Carr.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Survivors include son, Ronnie Chambers (Harriet) of Columbus, GA, sister, Betty Faye King of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Ashley Godfrey Segrave (John) of Milton, GA, Jessica Chambers (Jelinek) of Houston, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association @ act.alz.org/donate.
