Claire Adams Getz Elkhouli
September 28, 1935 — April 19, 2014
Claire Adams Getz Elkhouli, 78, of Columbus, GA, went to be with her Lord on April 19, 2014, ending her courageous battle with cancer at Columbus Hospice House.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
She was born to David and Eda Adams on September 28, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA. Claire graduated from Plant High School in Tampa, FL. She enjoyed her work with several great companies such as Florida Gas, Enron, and Boeing in Houston, TX where she began he retirement. During her lifetime, she was very active in the United Methodist Church where she played the piano and hand bells, and sang in the choir.
Mrs. Elkhouli is survived by her four children, Sam Getz (Kathleen), Bruce Getz (Bobbie), Sharon Smith (Robby) and Greg Getz (Marian); six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Columbus Hospice House and to Nancy Haines who was a dear friend and loving caregiver.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909 or St. Luke United Methodist Church's music scholarship fund, 1104 2nd Ave Columbus, GA 31901.
