Cindy L. Merritt, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at Wellstar Hospice in Troup County, after a courageous battle with cancer that lasted over a year. Born on August 1, 1958, in Geneva, Alabama, Cindy embodied kindness and love throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

For 33 years, she dedicated herself to her career at Aquarius Pools, where she served as a Store Manager. Her unwavering commitment and cheerful demeanor made her not just an employee but a beloved part of the company’s fabric and a trusted figure among her colleagues.

Cindy had a profound love for her family, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with them. As a mother to Toni Merritt Chambers and a grandmother to Christian Merritt, Cody Merritt and Caleb Chambers, she nurtured and cultivated a warm and loving environment that her family will always remember fondly. Her culinary talents graced many gatherings, where the delicious aromas from her kitchen filled their homes with comfort and joy.

She is survived by her loving husband Mark Merritt, who was her partner in every sense, and her daughter Toni Merritt Chambers, who carries forward her spirit of warmth and kindness. Cindy is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Christian, Cody, and Caleb, who will always hold on to the rich memories she created with them. Additionally, her sisters, Janie Pierce (Ronnie) and Connie Barton (Jack), her mother in law, Gwen Merritt Amick, and her brother-in-law Paul Merritt (Pam), continue to honor her memory, cherishing the bond they shared.

Cindy was preceded in death by her mother Anne Woodham and her brother Jerry Moss, who now reunite with her in peace. Their love and influence have shaped her into the remarkable woman she was, and they will be waiting to embrace her once more.

As we remember Cindy, let us celebrate the kindness she spread, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy of compassion lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will strive to exemplify her loving spirit in their own lives.

A memorial service will be held at McMullen Funeral Home on Saturday March 29th, 2025 at 1PM with Visitation an hour prior to the service. Ward Jordan will officiate the service.
