Christine Szymanski, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Chuck Coan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Shirley Redmond officiating.
Christine proudly served in the Army as a nurse, dedicating her life to helping others. She later worked as a therapist, offering guidance and support to those in need. Her passion for adventure led her to explore new places and experiences, always embracing life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She had a deep appreciation for Native American art and tradition, finding beauty and wisdom in its culture and teachings.
She is survived by her beloved son, Sam Mirsky, and his wife, Ashlea. Christine was a devoted and loving grandmother to Marge, Ben, and Jenny, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Peggi Stanford, Paulette Coan, Marcella Szymanski, and her brother, John Szymanski.
Christine touched the lives of many with her compassion, strength, and adventurous spirit. She volunteered countless hours over the years to the House of Time, serving veterans and others in the community, and the Columbus Jazz Society where she was a member for many years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
