LTC (Ret.) Christina Addison Santry, 66, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2012 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father J. Gerard Schreck officiating. A Rosary will be said 6:30 PM Friday with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Christina received full undergraduate and graduate scholarships to the University of Virginia where she studied nursing with an emphasis in Pediatrics.
She retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel having served in the Vietnam War for two years at the 24th Evacuation Hospital, Long Binh, Vietnam. During her service, she received the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Santry of Atlanta, GA, son, Robert Santry of Atlanta, GA, three brothers, Thomas Addison (Bonnie) of Cary, N.C., Bobby Addison of Waynesboro, VA and Andy Addison (Jenetta) of Waynesboro, VA, and sister, Aileen Parrott of Murfreesboro, TN.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to the National Parkinson Foundation 1501 N. W. 9th Ave. Miami, FL 33136 and the RSLSF 1701 Williams Ct. Unit 206 Columbus, GA 31904.
