Christa B Thomas

Christa B. Thomas of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at home with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

A Memorial service will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Roosevelt Memorial Church at 1:00 PM with visitation to follow. A potluck lunch will be held after the 11:00 AM church service. A graveside service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Christa was born on November 19, 1935, in Germany to Herbert and Johanna Brosch. She completed eight-year graduation and four-year trade school in Germany and proudly became a US Citizen in 1962. Christa worked as a nurse’s aide at Sunshine Biscuit for nine and half years and at St. Francis Hospital for twenty-one years. Following her retirement, Christa nannied many children and volunteered at Kindred Hospice.

Christa loved people and experiences, and she especially loved children. Her greatest joy was being a mother and she loved caring for her family and husband Ramon. She was especially proud of being an Air Force Mom and an Army Veteran Spouse. She was very active in her church and community and her personal strength was beyond measure. Christa cherished her friends and was readily available with a cup of coffee, lively conversation, and great advice. Christa loved everything angels and is now our beautiful guardian angel in heaven. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ramon Thomas (12/20) and her son Wolfgang.

Christa is survived by her son Bryan Tenney (Tara), son, Friedrich Brosch (Ursula), sister, Hannelore Olson, niece, Tatja Schneider (Doug), nephew, Detteff Olson (Elaine), many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
