Charlotte Diane Whitaker

Charlotte Diane Whitaker, 69, of Midland, GA passed away Thursday afternoon, September 16, 2021.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Trinity Assembly,101 Bascom Ct. Columbus, GA 31909, with Rev. Jim Bolin and Rev. Larry Hammock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Charlotte was born in Pensacola, Florida on July 22, 1952 to Floyd Cecil Evans and Gladys Ryals Evans. She is survived by Harvey, her husband of 49 years. Her Mother - Gladys Evans, son and daughter-in-law, Mark Whitaker & Whitney Lunsford Whitaker, and was GiGi to seven grandchildren. Charlotte was sister to Faron Evans and wife Penny; Melissa Harrison and husband, Danny; and Marvin Keith Evans.

While she enjoyed her 36 year career at Bank of America which encompassed many roles including Assistant Vice President, she loved her roles in retirement even more, because they all included the people she loved most. You would find her traveling the world with her husband, serving in her church, crocheting or quilting for family & friends, and always being ready to help or spend time with her grandchildren!  She loved singing in the choir, serving on missions trips, camping trips with friends, caring for her plants, shrimp boils & stories about growing up on the water, and most of all supporting her son any way she could!  Her most favorite of all though was talking about and doing things with her grandchildren.
