Charlie Neal Kemp, 92, of Columbus, GA died Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. Don Wilhite officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Kemp was born August 16, 1924 in Chattahoochee County, GA son of the late Charlie Carswell and Anna Bell Storey Kemp. He retired after 42 years with the U.S. Postal Service and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. Mr. Kemp was a former Deacon and member of Chase Memorial Baptist Church and is a current member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Hand Radio Club.
Other than his parents, Mr. Kemp is preceded in death by his brother, C.W. Kemp.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Pearl S. Kemp; one daughter, Kim Watson (Keith); one sister, Ophelia Jackson all of Columbus, GA, three grandchildren, April Watson, David Watson, Dylon Watson, two great grandchildren, Whitley Fussell and Olivia Huff and many nieces and nephews.
