Charles (Chuck) P. Fischer, 65, of Columbus, Georgia gained his wings Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Columbus Hospice surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus GA 31907. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Chuck was born February 13, 1958 in Chicago IL, and made his final home in Columbus, Georgia. Chuck attended Hardaway High School where he met his closest friends which remained in his life until today!
After High School he experienced several lines of work. He found that his passion was driving a truck on the open road. Chuck went to work for TSD Logistics out of Texas. He started in November 1998 to March of 2016 until he was forced to end his career due to Heart Failure. He took pride in his work and it showed.
Chuck was awarded for outstanding performance as a professional driver with a 2 million perfect mile award in 2013. He loved music of all kinds and collected original vinyl records, was a collector of all kinds of music and memorabilia, he also enjoyed working in the yard and could grow the biggest elephant ears in the neighborhood.
Chuck always had a smile and was the most gentle and loving person in our lives. Even though his heart was weak he was the strongest person when it came to his journey for a new heart. He was a fighter until his heart became too weak and with added complications his journey on this earth ended. Heaven gained an angel with a new heart that doesn’t skip a beat. He is cherished and loved deeply by us all! His presence will be missed but will live on in our hearts for eternity.
Chuck is survived by his fiancée, Carla Metcalf, step-daughters, Candace and Casey, step-father and mother, William and Betty Adams, sister, Joy Willis (Stan), half-sister, Ginger Britton (Steve), Charlene Robertson (Scott), half-brother, Pete Fischer, Mike Fischer (Janet), Bryan Fischer (Kerri), Allen Fischer (Stephanie), Tadd Fischer (Teresa), Danna Fischer (Eric), niece, Robin Willis, nephews, Dexter Jordan (Rachel), Grant Britton, and so many dear friends that became a big part of our lives.
