Charles Douglas White, 79 of Columbus, GA, died Saturday April 30, 2022 at the Columbus Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday May 4, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ken Dawson and Mr. Garrett Smith officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Charles was born on September 18, 1942 in Hogansville, GA, to the late Arnold L. White and Martha DeLamar White. He was a retired postman of 27 years and was also in the Air Force. Charles loved yard work, flowers, and fishing. He also enjoyed being the life of the party, listening and singing music, and was the karaoke king.
His survivors include children, Tracy Pate (Perry) of Midland, GA, Terry W. Smith (Kevin) of Ellerslie, GA, Todd White of Peachtree City, GA, Phoebe Atkins (Kiley) Grove Town, GA, brother, Arnold L. White Jr. (Janice) of Troy, AL, sister, Debbi Blankenship (Bill) of Ocala, FL, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and his special companion of 27 years, Jeretha Brannon of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Young Life in honor of his grandson Andrew (Drew) Franklin Pate at 2750 Sowega Dr. Columbus, Ga. 31909.
