Charles M. Thornton, Sr., 68, of Columbus, GA died Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 26, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907, with nephews, Ken Thornton and Tim Thornton officiating.
Mr. Thornton was born September 4, 1947 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Albert Thornton and Margaret Cooksey Thornton. He worked for Adams Plumbing Company.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Overdiek; brother, Walter Gilbert Thornton and brother-in-law, John Fell, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rose Marie Thornton of Columbus, GA; sons, Charles M. Thornton, Jr., (Tricia) of Spartanburg, SC, Justin Thornton and Michael Charles Thornton, both of Columbus, GA; daughter, Angela Jean Thornton of Columbus, GA; brother, Albert Thornton (Shelby) of Columbus, GA; sisters, Mary Fell and Imogene Thornton, both of Columbus, GA; and grandchildren, Brittanee Thornton and Carsten Thornton, both of Spartanburg, SC and Carter Thornton of Columbus, GA.
