Charles Jackson Sheppard

Charles Sheppard passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Columbus Hospice House.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Charles was born March 24, 1933 in Edison, GA son of the late Harvey and Bammie Sheppard. He received degrees from Mercer and Auburn Universities. He taught math and coached basketball and baseball at Richland High School. He later retired from the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as Regional Director.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elaine Sheppard, children, Bonnie Love (Rodney), Mike Sheppard (Brooke), grandchildren, Lauren Lowery (Matt), Haley Dougherty (Wes), Chad Sheppard, Allie Sheppard, great-grandchildren, Zin Lowery, Mac Lowery, Wiley Dougherty, Wade Dougherty, sister, Bammie Cofield (Carl), sister-in-law, Betty Roberts and brother-in-law, Joe (Peggy) Chambless.
