Charles Eugene Pickett, Sr., 86, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Columbus Hospice.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Tim Jones officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907.
Charles was born March 15, 1937 in Miami, FL to Joe Brown Pickett and Margaret Grubbs Pickett. He retired from Southern Foods in Columbus, GA and was a very proud member of the United States Coast Guard. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren. He never knew a stranger, talking and joking with everyone that he met.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Ehrhart.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Pickett of Columbus, GA, daughters: Donna Tice and Alice Pickett, both of Columbus, GA, son, Charles Pickett, Jr. (Billiejean) of Hamilton, GA, sister, Opal Darby of Bronson, FL, numerous grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other family members.
