- Charles H. "Jack" McDaniel, Jr, 74 of Columbus died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Wynnton United Methodist Church with Dr. Frank Parr officiating. The family will receive friends following the service, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. McDaniel was born August 13, 1936 in LaGrange, GA son of the late Agnes Jones McDaniel and Charles H. McDaniel, Sr. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1959 where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was the owner/operator of McDaniel and Associates for 40 years and had worked for Whatley Oil Co. for the past 8 years. He was a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church, the Goodwill Sunday School Class and the Thursday Morning Bible Study. He was preceded in death by his sister Jan Sanders.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Beverly F. McDaniel of Columbus, GA; daughters, Melinda McCune (Bill) of Columbus, GA and Hope Taylor (Jody) of Foley, AL; son Chuck McDaniel, III (Sally) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Maggie McDaniel, Chip McDaniel and Molly McCune all of Columbus, GA and Ridley Taylor of Foley, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
