Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 26, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Alan Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Charles Foster Gosa was born in Sulligent, Alabama on February 7th, 1945, but he spent most of his childhood in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  He graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1967 and went on to serve as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, and served in the Naval Reserve after his discharge. At a young age, Charles began working as a route driver at Tom’s Foods, which later became Lance, and he retired as the Director of Distributor Relations in 2011. His remaining years were devoted to what he loved most in life: his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, I.V. (Pete) and Faustina Gosa, and his sister, Bonnie Register, he is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Sandi, and his cherished children: Brad Gosa, Tiffany Gosa, and Kimberly Gosa (Wayne Ford). Charles adored and lived for his grandchildren: Kenzie Thomas; Alaina and Jovi Gosa-Ford; and Quazay, Sincere, and Gerald (Juju) Ford.  Charles is also survived by his brother, Mike Gosa (Bette), his sister, Janice Harris (Roger), and his nieces that he helped raise like his own children, Leslie Cox (Michael), Laurie Clack, numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved with all his heart: Tina Register; Kyle, Patrick, Carmen, Matthew, Corey, and Brianna Register; Troy Harris; Buffy, Keileigh, Bill, and Gabby Mann; Amy and Tinley Bowling; Denver and Carson King; Tyler and Nathan Cox; and Kelley (Jason) and Parker Pulley; Leah Stevens; and Ashley (Bentley), Cash, and Monroe Mixon.

To know Charles was to love Charles. His charisma and kind nature charmed everyone who met him, because his love of life and his generous spirit immediately shone through. He was always the life of the party and could always be counted on for a fun time and a laugh. His friends often referred to him as Good Time Charlie. He was always laughing and making jokes, usually at other people’s expense, but that’s how you knew he loved you. All his life he was known to tease the ones he loved. Everyone knew they could always depend on Charles to lend a helping hand for whatever they needed, whether it be a ride, a home cooked meal, a place to stay, money, a friend, or love. He would literally give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it.

Charles was the definition of what a good man should be. He was the very best husband, dad, pop-pop, uncle, brother, son, and friend. No one will ever touch our hearts the way that Charles did, and no party will ever be as fun without him.
