Charles Gray Geiger, 76 of Opelika, AL died Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Columbus Hospice House.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST, Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 5125 U.S. Hwy 80, Opelika, AL with Rev. Mike Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. EST at Colonial Funeral Home, 613 14th Street, Phenix City, AL.



Mr. Geiger was born March 26, 1937 in Columbus, Georgia son of the late Arthur Gray Geiger and Clara Vermell Pollard Geiger. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran. He worked in construction, Dolly Madison, and retired as a bus driver at Fort Benning, GA, Transportation Motor Pool, where he proudly transported the soldiers. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and has lived in the Dixie community his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet-shooting and talking about the "ones" that got away.



Survivors include his wife, Faye Geiger of Opelika, AL; children, Rhonda Cole (Charles) of Smiths Station, AL, Chris Geiger (Cindy) of Seale, AL, Angel White (Matt) of Seale, AL and Alan Taylor (Nicole) of Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Geiger, Carly Cole, Brandy Davis, Crystal Davis, Judah Taylor, Zaviar Taylor, Jonah Taylor and Isabell Rei White; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
