Charles Larry Digby, 78, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2016 at Evangel Temple, 5350 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31904, with Reverend Paul Thomas and Reverend Bud Rupel officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private burial will be held following the services at Parkhill cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 3:00-5:00 PM.
Mr. Digby was born August 6, 1938 in Phenix City, AL to the late Roy and Sara Williams Digby. He retired from the Muscogee County School System after 30 years, spending most of his career at River Road Elementary School. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Digby was a member of Evangel Temple.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Seth Harbuck and Ray Harbuck.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Jenkins Digby; children, Andrea Reese(Dan) of Cataula, GA, Stephen Digby(Jenny) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Andy Reese, Caroline Reese, Ian Reese all of Cataula, GA, and Luke Digby of Columbus, GA; a brother, Duaine Williams of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Evangel Temple Mission Fund, or your favorite charity.
