Charles Christopher “Chris” Chalmers passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, at the age of 65, in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Chris was born on August 25, 1959, in Greenwood, SC, Chris was the cherished son of Charles and Malinda Chalmers and a dedicated and loving husband to Angela, with whom he shared over 29 years of marriage. He was a proud alumnus of Columbus High School, graduating with the class of 1977. He was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. After many years of service in commercial truck driving, earning various awards, Chris retired from Harris County Public Works. His colleagues remember him as a lively individual who brought laughter and enthusiasm to the workplace every day.
Outside of his professional life, Chris enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, listening to music, watching NASCAR, and was a diehard fan of Alabama football. He was the life of the party and his love for his family and friends was second to none.
Those who knew Chris would describe him as loving, friendly, and passionate. He had a knack for making everyone feel welcomed and valued, a trait that won him the admiration and affection of many. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life was truly remarkable, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Chris is preceded in death by his daughter Cydney Louise Chalmers.
He is survived by his loving wife Angela; Son, Austin Chalmers (Peyton); grandchildren, Raegan, and Cullen; Parents, Charles and Malinda Chalmers; sister, September Witters (Stan); and brother, Michael Chalmers.
