Charles Bennett Baker, 77, of Columbus, GA died Monday, August 23, 2010, at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 5450 St. Mary's Road, Columbus, GA according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Baker was born May 21, 1933 in Louisville, AL, to the late C.L. and Estelle Baker. He was a retired independent insurance broker. He was a member of the Morningside Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myrtle Baker; a son, Kevin Baker and his wife, Tonya; a daughter, Kathy Dallas and her husband, Joe; a brother, Leon Baker and his wife, Jeanette and their daughter, Sharon (Jim) Sirmon; 4 grandchildren, Heather (Kenneth) Mason, Joseph (Erica) Dallas, Ben Baker and Stephanie Baker; one great grandchild, Charlotte Dallas; and many other loving friends and relatives.
