Beautiful and tenderhearted, young Cassidy Camille Dunaway, 19, was killed in a tragic automobile accident Sunday morning on West Olive Rd while riding as an innocent passenger with a friend. Cassie's life on earth was suddenly ended leaving family and friends filled with grief and a great sense of loss.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 06, 2013 in Chipley Hall at First Baptist Church, Jackson Street Entrance with Dr. Barry Howard officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga.
Cassidy was born January 24, 1994 in Pensacola, Florida and graduated from Pensacola Collegiate High School in 2012. She had been accepted at both PSC and UWF and was to begin classes in August at UWF. Her dream was to get her MBA from the University of Florida. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola where she accepted Christ at age seven and was baptized along with her mother.
Preceding Cassie in death last year was her precious grandfather, Jim Dunaway, whom she called "Daddy." He loved her unconditionally.
She is survived by her loving mother, Allison, and devoted grandmother, Camille M. Dunaway and also by grandparents, Jim and Margaret Herring of Greenville, Alabama. She also leaves her special "Unc" Jimmy and "second mother" Aunt Lori Dunaway, and their children, Austin and Brooklynn. Other relatives include cousins Beth and Crystal, and many aunts, uncles and cousins in both Alabama and Georgia.
Cassie's friends were very important to her. To them we say "thank you." Cassie left so much unused potential that we ask you, in her memory, to examine your own lives and make them count for good, and as you do, do a little extra as Cassie's share.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Cassidy Camille Dunaway Fund in care of First Baptist Church 500 N. Palafox St. Pensacola, Fl. 32501.
