Carolyn June Welch, 68, of Columbus, GA died Friday, February 12, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Dan MacMinn officiating. A private entombment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 15, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Welch was born March 21, 1947 in Slocumb, AL , daughter of the late Henry B. Peters and Jewel Morris Peters. For many years, she was a Program Director for Girls Inc.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald Peters and Donald Peters.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Dorsey "Fred" Welch of Columbus, GA; daughters, Lisa Smith and Rene Roberts (John) all of Columbus, GA; son, Kevin Welch (Christy) of De Pere, WI; sister, Betty Fuller (Gene) of Marion County, GA; sister-in-law Sandy Peters of Smiths, AL; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The family would like a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Columbus Hospice, especially her nurse, Anne and CNA, Rose.
