Carolyn Joan Thompson of Fortson, GA died Monday, January 6, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Hank Avery officiating. Interment will be held in Muscadine, AL. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM
Mrs. Thompson was born May 10, 1948 in LaGrange, GA daughter of the late Robert Harris and Sarah Illamae Ford Harris. She was the owner and operator of Deorio's Pizza in Cross Country Plaza.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her sister; Muriel Wheeler.
Survivors include her daughters; Barney Hawkins of Columbus, GA and Sydney Hawkins of Fortson, GA, granddaughter; Chandler Alexander Sutherland of Columbus, GA, sister; Lucille Walden (Bill) of Phenix City, AL, brothers; David Harris (Lori) and Edward Harris both of Columbus, GA, devoted friend; Joe Denson.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made in memory of Carolyn Joan Thompson at any Suntrust Bank in Columbus, GA to benefit Sydney Hawkins and Chandler A. Sutherland.
