Carolyn Peel Helms, 80, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Britt David Baptist Church 2801 West Britt David Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 with Reverend Tim Jones, Mr. Jim Morgan and Reverend Jonathan Porter officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Helms was born September 15, 1931 in Slocumb, AL daughter of the late William and Era Davis Peel. She worked as the Human Resources Manager for the Columbus Consolidated Government and was a member of Britt David Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Helms and six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Don Helms (Janice) of Newnan, GA and grandchildren, Daniel Helms, Ryan Helms, Aurica Yunk (Kris).
