Carol Ann Platt

Carol Ann Platt, 76, of Midland, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2023 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Will Cook officiating. A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2023 with a visitation to follow until 7:00 PM in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd Columbus, GA 31907.
Carol was born June 11, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Walter Serkownik and Hertha Schultz Serkownik. She worked as a travel nurse and cared for various patient populations. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, spending time with her family, and has been a long-standing member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
She was always passionate about animal rights through the advocation and financial assistance for pet adoption. She volunteered for many years for the non-profit organization “Paws Humane Society Thrift Shop” to additionally further pet adoptions. She was a devoted supporter of the prevention of animal cruelty for “All” animals large and small. She believed that animals are gifts to humans beings as we should always respect and cherish their unconditional love.
She is survived by her husband, of 55 years William “Bill” Platt, of Columbus, GA, daughter, Lisa Baglio (Brad) of Belton, TX, grandchildren, Cannon and Carson Baglio, of Belton, TX.
