Carmen Cardona Vazquez, 97, of Columbus, GA died Friday, June 19, 2015 at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 26, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Muriel Pitts officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Vazquez was born September 5, 1917 in Puerto Rico daughter of the late Raymond and Martha Ramos Cardona. She worked at Macy's.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Atanacio Vazquez.
Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Rocafort of Columbus, GA, son, James Vazquez of Brooklyn, NY, four grandchildren, Antonio Pezzimenti (Courtney), Gina Pezzimenti, Shalimar Vazquez and Desiree Donvan (Brendan) and four great grandchildren, Amayha Wilson, Kaydon Pezzimenti, Sabrina Pugh and Shannon Donvan.
