Carla Miller Upton

Carla Miller Upton, 62 of Phenix City, AL died Thursday August 8, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital after tenaciously battling a preceding illness, with her family by her side.

A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2024 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.

Carla was born February 5, 1962 in Raleigh, NC and was raised by her late grandmother, Minnie Hutchins. She retired as a General Manager of Krystal after many years of service. She cherished sunset views and night walks on the beach with her family, expressing her personality through her green thumb, and lounging at home with her pups. Her favorite football team was the University of Alabama, and it was a rare occurrence to not hear “ROLL TIDE!” on a fall Saturday afternoon. She will always be remembered for her strong will, determination and quirky personality.

Survivors include her husband: David Robert Upton, II of Phenix City, AL; daughters: Angela Upton (Henry Broddle) of Boulder, CO and Tabitha Upton of Columbus, GA, son: David L. Upton of Denver, CO and her grandson: Colin Broddle of Boulder, CO.
