Carl Matthew Dean 25 of Columbus, Ga. died Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Midtown Medical Center after a short battle with an aggressive illness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Trinity Assembly of God Church 101 Bascom Court Columbus, Ga. 31909 with Rev. Chuck Griffith and Rev. Mike McBride officiating. A private interment will be held for the family. The family will receive friends following the services at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.
Matthew was born at Martin Army Community Hospital on March 27, 1992 son of Gary and Carla Budd Dean, of Columbus, Ga. He graduated from Harris County High School and received his B.S. in Environmental Science from Columbus State University. Matthew worked at the Georgia Department of Public Health as an Environmental Specialist. He led a life that was focused on others. Prior to his work at the Public Health Department, Matthew ministered to University students through Chi Alpha.
Countless people have been positively impacted by his intentional living. Every person's life was important to Matthew and he loved everyone. He was caring and had no trouble making lifelong friends. Most have become family. He had a strong heart for his family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lester E. Budd and Robert W. Dean.
Other than his parents, Gary and Carla Budd Dean, maternal grandmother, Thelma Edwards of Elida, OH., paternal grandmother, Shirley D. Dean of Wake Forest, NC.,
He is survived by, April Warren and her husband Taylor of San Francisco, CA., Robert Dean and his wife Dana, of Columbus, GA., and Melody Ray and her husband Jonathan of Anderson, CA., his nieces Lottie and Mae that adored him.
