Burah Dell Wilbourn

Burah Dell Wilbourn, 94, of Columbus, GA died at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ed Kvietkus officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, July 14, 2023 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.

Burah Dell was born July 2, 1929 in Barbour County, AL to the late Albert Cain Baxley and Annie Dominey Baxley, who were generational famers.  She was the youngest of 12 children.  She retired from the Medical Center as an LPN and kept Matthew and Jessica Daniels during their formative years. Burah Dell enjoyed an active life. She loved people especially babies, gardening and line dancing at the Gallop Senior Center. She was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class. While at Brookdale she was full of surprises and was the cutest resident they had.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Wilbourn and daughter, Cecellia Ann Lyon.

She is survived by her children, Kim LeBel of Newark, DE, Kent Mathis (Melissa) of Cordova, TN, Kay Daniels of Cataula, GA, grandchildren, Lorie Everson, Lisa Clements, David Clements, Dawn Piotrowski (Scott), Michele Woolman, Kelly Gorney (Richard), Andrew Mathis, Stephen Mathis, Matthew Daniels and Jessica Daniels.  She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
