Buddy H. Phillips, 75, of Columbus, GA died Monday, November 28, 2016 at Columbus Specialty Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will be held at Geneva Cemetery in Geneva, GA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Phillips was born November 6, 1941 in Geneva, GA son of the late Buddy Henry Phillips and Ruby Velma Jones Phillips. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a Truck Driver. He was an avid NASCAR and dirt track racing fan. Buddy loved fishing, camping, gospel music and animals. He was a "Jack-of-all-trades" and a collector of old cars.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving step-father, Helton Bundy, his loving wife of 56 years, Wallis Jeanne Phillips, sister, Ruby Carolyn Phillips, and grandson, Austin Phillips.
Survivors include his son, Charles W. Phillips (Sandra) of Fayetteville, GA; daughter, Lisa Phillips of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Kyle Phillips of Atlanta, GA, Gracie Phillips of Fayetteville, GA, Michaela Phillips of Newnan, GA, Scottie Sierra (Samantha) and Tracy Sierra, great grandchild, Nathan Sierra all of Fayetteville, GA, special niece, Teresa Segars, and other nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association 5156 River Rd. Suite M Columbus, GA 31904.
