Wayne was born February 20, 1958, in Atlanta, GA to the late Charlie Bruce Gallups and Duane Williams Gallups. He grew up in Columbus where he played baseball and football for Kendrick High School and was affectionately known as “Batman.” After graduating, he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Banks. He began his career at Colonial Bakery where he retired after 26 years. Outside of serving his church, Wayne loved a good game of golf and fishing anywhere he could wet a hook. Wayne also tapped into his creative side by painting many detailed canvas paintings for others to enjoy.  He especially loved woodworking where he created many toys for his grandchildren.
