Brooks E. Johnson, 83 of Smiths, AL died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City, AL
A Memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Danny Kinser officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon at the funeral, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Johnson was born December 28, 1928 in Franklin County, Kentucky son of the late Walker Johnson and Arlie Brandenburg Johnson. He was a U. S. Army Veteran having served during World War II. He retired after 23 years from Mead as a supervisor in the lumber yard. He loved to do gardening and woodwork and go fishing.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Lola Fryman.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years June B. Johnson; son, Brooks Johnson, Jr.; granddaughter, Hayley Johnson all of Smiths, AL; sisters, Marie Pace and Emma Burnell Caswell both of Paris, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.
