Bret Alan Lindsey, 50, Midland, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 28, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. To honor Bret, family and friends are asked to wear their orange and blue War Eagle colors.
Bret was born April 6, 1964 in Columbus. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Evelyn Lindsey and his brother David Lindsey (whom his son is named after). He was employed by Senior Select Insurance Company. Bret was a proud graduate of Shaw High School, Class of 1982. He was a volunteer fireman at O'Neal Fire and Rescue in Talbot County and had a special bond with his fellow firemen. Bret had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his precious son David. Bret brought much joy and fun to his family, especially during the holidays and football season. He was a true Auburn fan.
Survivors include his father; Jerry H. Lindsey of Columbus, his son; David L. Lindsey of Kennesaw, GA, his fiancé Cathy Culpepper, his sister Robin Stine (David)Canton, GA, sister Beverly Snead (Jim) Midland, GA, brother Skip Lassiter (Linda) Columbus, GA, brother Mike Lassiter (Jan) Fortson, GA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Bret's only son David L. Lindsey' s college fund of Kennesaw, GA will be accepted at Wells Fargo.
